RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills region is gearing up for one of its longest-running youth sports traditions as registration opens for the 31st annual Rapid City Classic Basketball Tournament. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, 2025, drawing boys and girls teams from across South Dakota and surrounding states.

The tournament is open to youth teams in grades three through eight. Organizers state that the two-day event provides young athletes a chance to gain game experience, develop skills and engage in friendly competition.

The 2025 tournament will utilize several major venues in Rapid City, including The Monument’s Barnett Arena and Rushmore Hall, as well as the Nerdy Nuts building at the fairgrounds.

The entry fee is $200 per team, and all registered teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games. The deadline for submitting team rosters is Nov. 26, 2025.
