Thomas has spent much of his life sharing space with other cats, but after seven years, this handsome Maine Coon mix is ready for a home where he can finally relax and be himself.
Thomas is one of 171 cats currently being cared for by A Place for Meow Rescue. Because the rescue does not operate out of a shelter facility, all of its cats live in foster homes. Thirty two foster families help provide care, comfort and love while cats like Thomas wait for a forever family.
With his long black and gray coat and striking green eyes, Thomas is hard to miss. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed and has excellent litter box manners. While he gets along well with other cats, dogs and children, rescue volunteers say he has been stressed in his previous home because there were simply too many cats around him. Thomas would do best with one easygoing feline companion or as the only cat in the home, where he can enjoy being the king he was always meant to be.
Despite his size, Thomas has a soft heart. He loves being held, cuddled and spending time with his people. Whether it is a spot on the couch, a place on your lap or a corner of your bed, Thomas is happiest when he can be close by. He is affectionate without being demanding and is comfortable spending time on his own when needed.
One of his sweetest habits is kneading blankets and laps with his paws, something cat lovers often call “making biscuits.” Thomas takes his job seriously and will happily knead away until he drifts off to sleep.
Thomas has been an indoor cat for most of his life and would not do well outdoors. What he needs now is a calm home, a loving family and a chance to leave the stress of the past behind.
For the right person, Thomas will not just be a pet. He will be a loyal companion, a warm presence beside you and a gentle reminder that sometimes the biggest hearts come wrapped in the fluffiest fur.
