RAPID CITY, S.D. — As Memorial Day weekend begins and celebrations ramp up across the Black Hills, Airmen Against Drunk Driving is reminding residents and visitors to make a plan before drinking.

The volunteer organization encourages anyone consuming alcohol to arrange a safe ride home by using a designated driver, calling a taxi or contacting Airmen Against Drunk Driving at 605-385-RIDE (7433).

Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel holidays of the year, with increased traffic and celebrations often leading to a rise in impaired driving incidents. Officials say taking a few minutes to plan ahead can help prevent crashes, injuries and fatalities on local roads.

Airmen Against Drunk Driving provides free rides to help keep impaired drivers off the road and promote safety throughout the community.
