The Black Hills State University women’s soccer team traveled down I-90 to Rapid City on Saturday morning for a neutral site match-up with Minnesota Crookston, battling to a 0-0 draw at the Black Hills Surgical Sports Complex. While both teams’ offensive attacks provided opportunities, each goalkeeper did their job as Rian Barthel picked up her first shutout of the season and the duo of Phoenix DeBrusk and Payton King provided the second consecutive shutout for the Golden Eagles to begin the 2026 campaign. Despite the strong play by the keepers, BHSU looked to steal the win late in the match with a corner kick set; however, a header from Ally Boysen ricocheted off the top woodwork with less than three minutes to play and left the game scoreless.
