Rapid City native and NBC’s The Voice standout continues to build momentum with a playful new alt-pop anthem.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Fresh off introducing her music to a national audience on NBC’s The Voice, Rapid City’s own Bijou Belle is keeping the momentum going with the release of her latest single, “Blind Crush,” alongside her sibling band, The RathCo.
Available now on all major streaming platforms, “Blind Crush” is an upbeat, flirtatious pop track that captures the excitement and unpredictability of developing feelings for someone before logic has a chance to step in.
Co-written by Belle with her siblings, Amelie Wilcox and Weston Rathbun, and produced by Matt Buehner, the new single follows recent releases including her cover of Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower” and the atmospheric original “Close the Door.” Together, the songs continue to showcase Belle’s evolving artistry while highlighting the creative chemistry she shares with her family.
Built around shimmering production, catchy hooks and playful lyrics, “Blind Crush” leans into the carefree excitement of a new romance instead of overthinking it.
“‘Blind Crush’ is all about that rush of getting swept up in someone new and making the kind of impulsive decision you probably shouldn’t,” Belle said. “It’s completely fictional. We just wanted to bottle up that fun, flirty, slightly chaotic energy that comes with a crush. It’s not meant to be taken too seriously. Sometimes you just need a song that lets you have fun and embrace the madness for a few minutes.”
That lighthearted approach shines throughout the track, which blends polished pop production with relatable storytelling. Rather than trying to make every moment make perfect sense, “Blind Crush” celebrates living in the moment and enjoying the excitement that comes with it.
At just 17 years old, Belle continues to establish herself as one of the Black Hills’ fastest-rising young artists. Raised in a family deeply rooted in music, she began performing with The RathCo at an early age, touring throughout the Midwest and gaining valuable experience on stages of all sizes.
Music runs deep in the family. Her grandfather, Rocke Grace, co-wrote the classic rock hit “Rocky Mountain Way,” helping inspire the next generation of musicians to pursue songwriting and live performance.
While Belle continues performing with The RathCo, she has also begun carving out her own path as a solo artist. Her debut EP introduced listeners to a signature blend of alt-pop and indie influences, featuring emotional songwriting, atmospheric production and vocals that helped earn her a spot on Team Adam during her memorable run on NBC’s The Voice.
That national exposure opened the door to a broader audience, but Belle has remained closely connected to her Rapid City roots while continuing to write and release new music.
With “Blind Crush,” Bijou Belle & The RathCo deliver another confident step forward, offering fans a song that’s equal parts catchy, carefree and impossible not to sing along with.
“Blind Crush” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms. Fans can learn more about Bijou Belle and The RathCo by visiting bijoubelleofficial.com and following Bijou Belle on social media.
