The Box Elder Events Center is hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch this weekend to honor mothers who serve their communities through military service, education and emergency response.

The event will take place Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Box Elder venue and will offer free admission to active duty military mothers, veterans, teachers and first responder moms with valid identification.

According to organizers, the brunch is designed to create a welcoming and meaningful experience for families across the Black Hills region while recognizing the contributions made by mothers in service focused careers.

“This brunch is our way of saying thank you,” said Adam Patton, general manager of The Box Elder Events Center. “We’re honored to offer a free Mother’s Day brunch to the moms who serve our communities every day and give families a meaningful way to celebrate them.”

Guests attending the brunch can expect a buffet style meal, a rose and complimentary cocktail token for every mother upon arrival, cotton candy provided by Sweet Fluff Organic Cotton Candy, a family friendly atmosphere and a photo backdrop area for pictures.

The event is open to families from Box Elder, Rapid City and surrounding communities. Reservations are required for attendance.

Organizers said qualifying mothers can use promotional codes during checkout based on the number of eligible moms attending. The code “HEROMOM” applies to one qualifying mother, while “HEROMOM2” applies to two qualifying mothers. Families with more than two qualifying mothers are encouraged to contact the venue directly for additional accommodations.

Additional information, including reservations and menu details, is available through the event center’s website.
