BOX ELDER, S.D. — The City of Box Elder will host its first First Responder Career Fair on Monday, Oct. 5, bringing together local agencies and educational programs for people interested in careers in public safety and emergency services.

The free event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Box Elder Event Center and is open to anyone interested in learning more about first responder career opportunities. There is also no cost for agencies to participate or exhibit.

Several agencies from across the Black Hills are expected to participate, giving attendees an opportunity to learn about different first responder careers and connect directly with people working in those fields. Schools offering programs related to first responder careers will also be represented, allowing attendees to explore education and training options.

The career fair is designed to provide networking opportunities while connecting prospective first responders with agencies and schools that can help them take the next step toward a career in the field.

The City of Box Elder is still accepting agencies interested in participating in the event. Agencies can register or request additional information by emailing humanresources@boxeldersd.gov or calling 605-939-6424 or 605-786-2947.
