The Black Hills State University men’s and women’s track & field teams were back in action in the first day of a trip to southern California for distance runners, competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Leopard Invitational on Thursday. During the day a pair of times were added to the All-Time Yellow Jacket Performance List as the day began with Gavin Kuhlenbeck running the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 10,000m run at the Bryan Clay Invitational, and Evie Boyd later breaking a 21-year old school record in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Leopard Invitational. Another notable performance at La Verne’s Ortmayer Stadium occurred in the 10,000m run as Turner Christians captured the event title.
