South Dakota’s brand inspection fees haven’t increased in 13 years

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota’s brand program is long and storied – as is the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association that will hold its 135th annual convention July 20-22 in Rapid City.

A presentation on the state brand inspection program – and changes to it during the last legislative session – is expected to draw a big crowd. Doris Lauing is the Stockgrowers executive director.

There is sure to be debate over the amount of the cap to be set. Lauing points to a program that isn’t as simple as it might seem.

The Brand Inspection presentation is set for Tuesday, July 21st at 12:30pm (MT) at the DoubleTree by Hilton Rapid City Downtown Convention Center and is open to the public.

There is full slate of officials and other stakeholders scheduled to speak at the brand inspection presentation.
