RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Legendary Buffalo Chip has added even more firepower to an already stacked 2026 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally lineup.

GRAMMY Award-winning rock band Halestorm will take the stage Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Buffalo Chip, joining country superstar Lainey Wilson for what is shaping up to be one of the most diverse and action-packed days of the Rally.

The announcement adds a major rock presence to a day that already featured Daredevil Wednesday Stunts, two custom motorcycle shows, Crazy Johns Street Drag Racing, Ultra4 Racing and one of country music’s biggest stars. Now, fans can experience a unique blend of country and hard rock all in one place.

Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Lzzy Hale, Halestorm has become one of the most successful rock bands of the modern era. The group, which also includes drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith, made history as the first female-fronted band to win a GRAMMY Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance with their hit song “Love Bites (So Do I).”

Since then, Halestorm has continued to dominate rock radio with multiple No. 1 songs, billions of streams and a reputation for delivering some of the most energetic live performances in music. The band was also recognized by Loudwire as Rock Artist of the Decade and has shared stages with iconic acts including Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, Evanescence and Avenged Sevenfold.

The band’s appearance comes as they continue touring behind their 2025 album, Everest, which further cemented their place among rock’s elite.

Buffalo Chip officials say Halestorm’s hard-hitting sound and Lainey Wilson’s country swagger create an unlikely but exciting pairing that reflects the spirit of the Sturgis Rally itself, bringing together music fans from every genre under one roof.

The addition of Halestorm also strengthens what many are calling one of the most diverse entertainment lineups in Rally history. The 2026 Buffalo Chip schedule already includes performances from YUNGBLUD, Megadeth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, David Lee Roth, Skillet, Collective Soul, Buckcherry, Drowning Pool and Hairball, alongside attractions such as Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and Ultra4 racing.

For fans attending Wednesday’s festivities, the combination of  Daredevil Stunts, Lainey Wilson and Halestorm, offers a full day of adrenaline-fueled entertainment that stretches from the stunt arena to the concert stage.
