DELL RAPIDS, S.D. – The Jon Hansen for Governor campaign announced a major six-figure statewide advertising campaign on Friday, signaling an aggressive push for conservative voters ahead of the Republican primary.
The media buy focuses on Hansen’s legislative record, specifically highlighting his advocacy for property tax relief, constitutional freedoms, and his opposition to out-of-state corporate influence regarding landowner rights. The campaign intends to reach voters in Rapid City and across the state through television, radio, social media, and streaming platforms.
“South Dakotans are responding to Jon Hansen’s message because they want strong conservative leadership that puts taxpayers and families first,” said Campaign Spokesman Austin Goss. “This investment is a continuation of the grassroots coalition we have built, and the momentum that has followed.”
Hansen, who currently serves as the Speaker of the South Dakota House of Representatives, is positioning himself as an anti-establishment candidate.
“This campaign is powered by hardworking South Dakotans who want a governor that will fight for them-not the political establishment or out-of-state special interests,” Goss said. “Jon Hansen has consistently delivered conservative results in Pierre, and voters are ready to bring that leadership to the Governor’s Office.”
A fifth-generation South Dakotan and attorney, Hansen has represented District 25 since 2019. He resides in Dell Rapids with his wife, Sheila, and their six children. The expansion of his statewide operations marks a significant escalation in the race to succeed the current administration in Pierre.
