RAPID CITY, S.D. – Hy-Tech Drilling is strengthening its long-term investment in the United States with the establishment of a permanent operational hub in Rapid City, South Dakota. Representing an estimated $500,000 long-term investment through the initial five-year lease and development of the new hub, the project is expected to create several full-time career opportunities, both at the Rapid City facility and in the field.

Construction is expected to begin shortly, with the facility anticipated to be operational in early 2027.

The investment reflects Hy-Tech’s continued confidence in the Black Hills, where the company has supported mineral exploration and mine development projects for several years. By establishing a permanent presence in the region, Hy-Tech will improve equipment readiness, streamline mobilization, and strengthen its ability to respond quickly to customer needs throughout the western United States.

Regional partnerships driving growth Canadian-based Hy-Tech has operated in the United States since 2015 and has steadily expanded its presence across the western U.S., supporting mineral exploration and mine development projects in Alaska, South Dakota, and other mining jurisdictions.

The decision to establish a permanent hub in Rapid City reflects not only Hy-Tech’s long-term growth strategy but also the collaborative efforts of regional partners committed to supporting responsible economic development.

“We are excited to welcome Hy-Tech Drilling to the Black Hills Region,” said Kallie Ruland, senior business development director, Elevate Rapid City. “Investments like this create high-quality employment opportunities, strengthen the local supply chain, and reinforce the long-term growth of our regional economy.”
