PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has been unanimously elected to serve as President-Elect of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG).
The election took place Monday during the organization’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C. This marks the second time Jackley has been selected for this leadership track. He spent the past year serving as Vice President of the association.
“I am honored to serve alongside my fellow Attorneys General as we enforce our state laws and promote sound law enforcement policies for our communities,” Jackley said. “Serving in this leadership role will strengthen my ability to address issues on a national level that are important to South Dakota.”
Jackley previously served as NAAG President in 2015. At that time, he was the first attorney general from South Dakota to lead the national organization.
NAAG is comprised of the attorneys general from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealths of Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands, and the territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.
Connecticut Attorney General William Tong is serving as the NAAG President this year. District of Columbia Attorney General Brian Schwalb was named Vice President, and New Hampshire Attorney General William Formella will serve as Immediate Past President.
