Fans of reggae, punk and hip-hop are in for an energetic night this summer as 707 Sports Bar & Nightlife welcomes Kyle Smith and his Shark Bait Tour to The Park on Saturday, August 1.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with local favorites High Rise kicking off the evening.
Known for blending California reggae with elements of punk rock, hip-hop and alternative music, Smith has built a loyal following through honest songwriting, infectious choruses and high-energy live performances. His music often explores themes of perseverance, individuality and embracing life’s challenges, earning him a reputation as an artist whose concerts feel just as personal as they are entertaining.
The Shark Bait Tour promises an evening filled with singalong anthems, upbeat rhythms and the laid-back atmosphere that has become synonymous with Smith’s performances. Fans can also take advantage of a very limited Meet & Greet add-on, giving concertgoers the opportunity to meet the artist before the show.
Opening the night is High Rise, a reggae-rock band that has become a staple of the Black Hills music scene since forming in 2014. The group describes its sound as “Dakota Roots Reggae,” combining modern and traditional reggae with influences from ska and hip-hop.
Known for its uplifting performances and positive message, High Rise has developed a strong regional following throughout South Dakota and the Midwest. The band released its debut EP, Movin Fast, in 2020, featuring songs including “Shoot Me Down” and “Wicked Ways.” More recently, the group released its 2025 project, Wishful Thinking, highlighted by the singles “True Love” and the title track.
With a nationally touring headliner paired with one of the Black Hills’ favorite reggae acts, the August 1 show is shaping up to be one of the summer’s standout live music events in Rapid City.
Tickets and information about the limited Meet & Greet package are available through The Park 707.
