RAPID CITY, S.D. – Medical Air Rescue Company (MARC) broke ground Wednesday on a major expansion at their location on Airport Road near the Rapid City Regional Airport.
The expansion, construction of a 36,000-square-foot headquarters and aircraft hangar, will allow the growing company to move out of a smaller, 20,000-square-foot structure and consolidate multiple office spaces and training areas into one larger, more efficient facility.
The new facility will expand MARC’s operational space, maintenance capabilities, training and administrative areas to support a growing company and its seven Beechcraft King Airs.
“It will give us the room to grow and expand in the future,” said Dustin Hunsaker, Chief Operations Officer of MARC. “We’re at the point now I need to grow the support staff, the admin staff, to grow the company footprint… to expand into more space, more communities.”
Dale Aviation (dba MARC) has a long history in Rapid City, having been in business since 1986. Today, the company employs 90 people and provides fixed-wing air ambulance services in South Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas transporting patients while partnering with healthcare providers, EMS agencies, and tribal communities. Companywide, they average about 180 transports a month from five bases with 24/7 operations.
Project completion is expected by March 2027.

MARC’s new 36,000 sq. foot facility will be located just across from the current location at 3875 Airport Road.
