RAPID CITY, SD – A groundbreaking ceremony for Northline Business Park Thursday morning officially launched the first phase of the Rapid City development project.
The 128-acre mixed-use business park is designed to expand Rapid City’s inventory of development-ready sites and support future business growth by offering commercial, industrial and mixed-use sites.
“We’re growing, and we’re preparing for that growth,” Jack Valentine, Elevate Rapid City President and CEO, said. “When people look at Rapid City from an existing business point of view and they’re ready to expand, they want shovel ready sites, and without having shovel ready sites that type of growth (doesn’t happen).”
Located across from the State of South Dakota building on Mall Drive, developers say the site will provide space for local companies to expand and new employers considering Rapid City, while creating additional opportunities for commercial and industrial development.
Phase one of the project will include grading and infrastructure work to prepare commercial and industrial sites along Mall Drive.
Valentine said several partners made the development possible including the State of South Dakota which invested $1 million from the Future Fund towards the project.
Representatives from Elevate Rapid City, South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and other project partners were at the groundbreaking Thursday.
