Think twice on June 3rd, 2026, when voting for a Pennington County Commissioner for District #1 who will serve a 4-year term defending taxpayers.  For the most part, all candidates can’t say enough when it comes to wasteful spending and as a standing county commissioner I couldn’t agree more.  Moving on.  A November 6th 2018 RC Journal news article states that Dan Driscoll beat incumbent Michael Mueller 58-42 percent in a director’s race for West Dakota Water Development.   The article goes on to say that Mueller was one of three directors who cast votes at a recent board meeting in favor of authorizing up to $7,500 in legal fees to fight the local regulations of septic systems.  Lastly the article goes on to say that the board’s action was urged by former Pennington County commissioner George Ferebee of rural Hill City who had devoted much of his past eight years opposing Pennington County septic system laws and had been in long standing legal battles with the county.  I’m still scratching my head on how spending up to $7,500 on legal fees on septic systems was in the best interest of taxpayers?   My vote is for Zack Bush.
