RAPID CITY, S.D. – Elevate Rapid City hosted its quarterly Spring Mixer on Tuesday, April 14, at the new Children’s Home Society campus, giving attendees a firsthand look at expanded services aimed at supporting children and families in the Black Hills.

The event brought together professionals, leaders and community members for an evening of networking and community engagement while highlighting the work of Children’s Home Society.

Children’s Home Society has served children and families in the Black Hills since the late 1800s and has grown from a small effort into an organization that now serves more than 3,000 children and families through eight programs. The organization has expanded services over time to include mental health support, foster care and adoption services, and a Child Advocacy Center.

Attendees had the opportunity to tour the newly completed wing of the campus and view ongoing construction, gaining insight into how the facility is being developed to prevent, treat and heal trauma.

During the event, Elevate Rapid City presented handmade blankets to the Children’s Home Society Child Advocacy Center. Each person who is interviewed at the center receives a blanket as a symbol of comfort and support during the healing process.

The mixer also featured interactive elements, including the “Hope in Bloom” flower bar and a community activity connected to the Join the Fold campaign, allowing attendees to engage more directly with the organization’s mission.

The Spring Mixer is part of Elevate Rapid City’s quarterly events, which are designed to connect the community while showcasing organizations working to expand services and provide support for residents across the region.
