Six Flags Magic Mountain retires X2 roller coaster amid brain injury lawsuits
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Six Flags Magic Mountain is retiring its famous X2 roller coaster amid lawsuits alleging serious brain injuries caused by the ride. The Southern California theme park announced Tuesday that it is permanently closing the ride after nearly 20 years. Six Flags recently settled a wrongful-death lawsuit from the family of a 22-year-old man who died after riding the coaster in 2022. Three more lawsuits alleging traumatic brain injuries were filed last week. From motorcycles to booze, US ban on $1 billion worth of Canadian imports goes into effect
WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States banned nearly $1 billion in Canadian imports Tuesday, escalating trade tensions between the two countries. The ban includes alcoholic beverages, some dairy products and motorcycles and follows Canada’s retaliation against U.S. tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. The restrictions cover about $967 million in Canadian imports based on 2025 figures, with alcoholic beverages accounting for 87% of the total.
