RAPID CITY, S.D. – Riverfront Broadcasting announced the acquisition of Fox Sports Rapid City, launching the new Riverfront Sports Network (RSN).
A programming agreement takes effect August 1, 2026, while awaiting FCC approval, expanding the company’s sports broadcasting portfolio. The newly formed network brings together News Radio KOTA 100.7/1380, KDSJ Radio 103.5/980, and Fox Sports Rapid City 106.7/1150 to form a regional sports media platform.
Through radio broadcasts, video streaming, digital content, and live event production, RSN will offer coverage of high school athletics, local and regional collegiate sports, live play-by-play broadcasts, athlete profiles, feature programming, and sports talk programs including The Nate Brown Show and Coaches Shows.
“The primary focus and duty of all Riverfront Broadcasting properties is to provide live, local content for our audiences,” Riverfront Broadcasting General Manager Jim Kallas said. “And nothing is more live or local than Rapid City and Black Hills sports teams. By combining the resources of the top 3 stations that cover sports in the area, we will be able to shine the spotlight even brighter on our area’s student athletes.”
Nate Brown of Fox Sports Rapid City highlighted the platform’s history and future direction.
“When I launched Fox Sports Rapid City 9 years ago, I wanted to bring western South Dakota a daily sports talk show featuring local interviews and thought-provoking topics,” Brown said. “I’m really excited about this opportunity to join forces with Riverfront Broadcasting and enhance our sports broadcasts. Riverfront is a company that believes in covering local sports and I’m thrilled to see what we can do together.”
Fox Sports Rapid City is heard on 106.7 FM and 1150 AM across Rapid City and the Black Hills and online at FoxSportsRapidCity.com. The station serves as the flagship for The Nate Brown Show, seen and heard in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and online, and serves as the Black Hills exclusive home for SDSU Jackrabbit Football alongside nationally syndicated Fox Sports Radio programming such as The Dan Patrick Show and The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
