RAPID CITY, SD – Security First Bank, a financial institution with deep roots in southwest South Dakota and Nebraska, has officially finalized the acquisition of 11 former First Interstate Bank locations.

The transition, which became official April 10, 2026, marks a significant expansion for the bank within the region. The newly integrated branches are located in Alliance, Atkinson, Broken Bow, Burwell, Callaway, McCook, Norfolk, O’Neill, Ord, Scottsbluff, and Sidney.

With this expansion, Security First Bank now operates 36 full-service branches. The move strengthens the bank’s footprint across Nebraska and continues its service reach near its markets in Rapid City and southwest South Dakota.

“We’re thrilled to welcome these First Interstate branches into our family and deepen Security First’s roots across Nebraska,” said Gregory A. Hunter, President of Stockmens Financial Corporation and Chief Executive Officer of Security First Bank. “We share First Interstate’s unwavering commitment to community, personal service, and local investment, and we’ve been committed to those standards since our founding in 1898.”

Security First Bank representatives expressed gratitude to First Interstate Bank for their collaboration during the transition period.
