SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish boys basketball coach Ben Schultz has announced he is leaving the Spartan program and taking over head coaching duties at Sioux Falls Roosevelt.

Schultz made the announcement on Thursday, bringing an end to a four-year stint at the helm of the Spartan basketball team.

Schultz has a combinged 46-39 record during his time at Spearfish. Last season, Spearfish had a 15-6 record and had the number one scoring defense in Class AA Basketball.

Schultz replaces Mitch Begeman at Roosevelt, who went 19-5 this past season, and finished in third place at the State AA Basketball Tournament.

Bergeman announced in late March he was stepping down as serving as coach or 10 years.
