Steven Wesley “Steve” Sliger, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on July 12, 1964, to Richard and Delores Sliger, Steve was a man of intelligence, kindness, and integrity who enjoyed the outdoors and brought those enduring qualities to his everyday life.

Steve worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, putting his practical abilities and intelligence to use in a demanding, hands-on profession. Working with large machinery required an understanding of how things functioned and the patience to work through problems. It was work that gave his capable mind a practical purpose.

Outside of work, Steve enjoyed spending time outdoors. Being outside was one of life’s pleasures for him, offering a welcome change from the demands of his trade. His enjoyment of the outdoors was a simple but meaningful part of who he was.

Steve’s kindness and integrity were central to his character. He was thoughtful and principled, and his intelligence was accompanied by a warmth that made him more than the work he did. These qualities gave substance to his life and remain an important part of the way he will be remembered.

Steve is survived by Wendy Sliger; his children, Victoria Tebaqui, Casey Joe Sliger (Amber), and Riley Sliger; his six grandchildren, Chase, Sophia, Mason, Gideon, Genevieve, and Gavin; his sister, DeAnne Watkins; and his parents, Richard and Delores Sliger.

He was preceded in death by his son, Justin.

Steve’s passing leaves a deeply felt absence in the lives of his loved ones. His memory lives on through his children and grandchildren, and through the many personal memories held by those who knew him. His intelligence, his kindness, his integrity, and his enjoyment of the outdoors will remain inseparable from the man they loved.
