STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Council members received another promising sales tax report Monday as the July collections continued the city’s positive revenue trend.
At her first meeting as the new City Administrator, Rhea Crane says the General Fund sales tax increased 9.77% over July of 2025.
“Through the first seven months of 2026, General Fund sales tax collections total $1,246,269, representing a 4.81% increase over the same period in 2025 and 7.421% above the same period in 2024. These results indicate continued steady economic activity and place year-to-date collections ahead of budget expectations.”
As for the Triple B tax, Crane says collections also remained positive. July receipts were 10.36% higher than July of 2025, while year-to-date collections are 5.65% above 2025 levels.
