Deadwood, SD – Organizers announced that Ian Munsick will headline the opening night of the free music festival on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Sue Lundberg Memorial Stage in Outlaw Square.
The Wyoming-born country artist has become one of the genre’s fastest-rising stars, earning more than 1 billion streams and building a loyal following with songs such as Long Live Cowgirls and Horses Are Faster. Known for blending modern country with western roots, Munsick’s music has resonated strongly with audiences across the region.
Festival organizers said Munsick’s sound and western style make him a natural fit for the annual event in Deadwood, where he is no stranger to performing.
The performance will headline the first night of the two-day festival, which returns Sept. 18-19. Deadwood Jam remains free to attend and will once again bring live music, food and drinks to the historic downtown venue.
“This is a free weekend of live music in the Wild West,” organizers said in the announcement. “Come jam where the cords fly, drinks are cold, and the outlaws, hippies, wanderers and pickers are in it for the long haul.”
Additional performers for the weekend are expected to be announced in the coming months.
