Rapid City is heading into another packed weekend filled with live entertainment, community arts, high-energy motorsports, and one of the region’s premier tasting events. From music bingo and local theater to reggae shows and whiskey sampling downtown, there’s something happening across the Black Hills for nearly every interest.
Here’s a look at what’s happening around town this Friday and Saturday.
Friday, March 6
Music lovers can kick off the weekend at Firehouse Pizzeria & Wine Cellars with Singo Bingo: 60s, 70s and 80s Edition beginning at 6 p.m. The popular event combines bingo with classic hits, replacing numbers with song titles as players listen for clips of legendary R&B and disco-era favorites. Each round offers multiple chances to win prizes, including drink coupons. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for Wine Down Happy Hour from 4–6 p.m.
Also starting at 6 p.m., the Dahl Arts Center invites performers and spectators alike to its free Open Mic Night. Hosted through the Emerging Performing Artists program, the event provides a welcoming stage for musicians, poets, storytellers, and creatives of all experience levels to share their work and connect with the local arts community.
Theater fans can step into 17th-century France with The Three Musketeers at Seraphim Theater at 7:30 p.m. The classic tale follows young D’Artagnan as he joins Athos, Porthos, and Aramis in a fast-paced adventure filled with duels, political intrigue, betrayal, and loyalty under the famous creed, “All for one, and one for all.”
Friday night wraps up with live reggae and roots rock at 707 Nightlife, where Tuff Roots joins local favorites Camp Comfort for a 21+ show presented by Hot 93.1. Social hour begins at 7 p.m., with live music kicking off at 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 7
Adrenaline takes center stage Saturday evening as Metal Clash: Road 2 Destruction Monster Trucks returns to The Monument at 6 p.m. The high-octane show promises freestyle monster truck action, roaring engines, and even a unique “redneck wedding” ceremony taking place inside a monster truck during the event.
Live local rock continues Saturday night at 707 Nightlife, featuring performances by Common Law and Granite Sun. Doors open at 7 p.m., with music beginning at 7:30 p.m. for a night highlighting Black Hills-based bands.
Meanwhile, The Social House hosts the 2026 Buffalo Chip Poster Model Search beginning at 8 p.m. Presented in partnership with X Rock and the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, the event gives contestants a chance to compete for a grand prize package valued at $18,000 and the opportunity to become the official face of the Buffalo Chip for 2026. The evening carries a “Fight Night” theme and is open to guests 21 and older.
Main Event: Mountain West Whiskey Festival
The weekend’s signature event arrives Saturday as the Mountain West Whiskey Festival takes over the historic Hotel Alex Johnson beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing into the evening.
Widely considered the region’s premier whiskey tasting experience, the festival brings together industry experts, distillers, and whiskey enthusiasts for an evening featuring samples of bourbons, scotches, and specialty whiskeys alongside upscale catering and live entertainment in the heart of downtown Rapid City.
