The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is in full swing, bringing visitors from around the world to the Black Hills, but there are also plenty of opportunities for locals to get out and enjoy the weekend. Whether you’re looking for live music, family-friendly activities or simply want to experience the excitement that comes with Rally Week, there’s no shortage of things happening Friday and Saturday.

Friday afternoon begins with Free Pinball Friday at Hay Camp Brewing Company from 4 to 6 p.m. The weekly event welcomes players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy two hours of free pinball while connecting with fellow enthusiasts and the teams from Hay Camp Brewing Company and Heroes & Villains. Guests can enjoy a locally brewed beer or house-made soda while trying out the arcade machines in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

Friday evening, local music fans can head to VFW Post 1273 for a night of punk and garage rock beginning at 7 p.m. Montana’s MINOT headlines the show alongside Colorado punk band RUGBURN, with local support from NEON EYES and LANDLINE. The all-ages concert runs until 10 p.m., making it a great stop for anyone looking to experience Rapid City’s local music scene during Rally Week.

Saturday offers a unique Black Hills tradition with Wyatt’s Lemonade Stand in Tilford. Open beginning at 11 a.m., Wyatt welcomes both locals and Rally visitors with free lemonade, homemade cookies, plenty of shade and a chance to add a pin to his growing visitor map. Located just off Interstate 90 at Exit 40, the stand has become a popular stop for travelers making their way through the Black Hills each August.

Later Saturday evening, Nashville country artist Katie Fee performs live at Woodland Republic Brewing beginning at 6 p.m. Fee brings a blend of original music and country favorites, offering a laid-back evening of live entertainment for those looking to unwind after a day of Rally activities.

Of course, the biggest attraction throughout the weekend remains the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, with thousands of motorcycles filling the roads and communities across the Black Hills. Riders can take in some of the country’s most scenic highways, browse hundreds of vendors, admire custom motorcycles, enjoy stunt shows, and experience live entertainment happening throughout the region. Venues like the Buffalo Chip and Full Throttle Saloon continue to host nationally known performers while downtown Sturgis buzzes with motorcycles, food vendors, shopping and visitors from across the globe.

Whether you’re making a day trip to Sturgis, catching live music in Rapid City or simply exploring everything the Black Hills has to offer, this weekend provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy one of South Dakota’s busiest and most exciting times of the year.
