Rapid City, S.D. – The Post 320 Shooters used timely hitting and strong defense to earn a 9-2 victory over the Post 22 Bullets on Friday night at Fitzgerald Stadium.

Post 320 got on the scoreboard early and never looked back. The Shooters scored four runs in the third inning and added three more in the fifth to build a comfortable lead. They finished the game with nine runs on nine hits and committed one error. Post 22 finished with two runs on six hits and no errors.

One of the biggest moments of the game came from Brad Woidt (#21), who recorded the only triple of the night.

Woidt’s triple came in a key situation for the Shooters. The inning began with C. Sayles being caught stealing third base by third baseman C. Begeman for the first out. During the at-bat, E. Knutson stole second base and later advanced to third on a passed ball, putting himself in scoring position.

With the count working in his favor after a called strike, two balls, a swinging strike, and another ball, Woidt stepped into the box looking to drive in a run. He connected on a line drive to center field that got past the defense and rolled deep into the outfield. Woidt hustled all the way to third base for a triple while E. Knutson crossed home plate to score.

The hit was the only triple recorded by either team during the game and gave the Shooters another boost offensively. Woidt’s aggressive baserunning and ability to come through in a key moment helped keep momentum on Post 320’s side.

The Shooters’ offense was productive throughout the game. After a scoreless first and second inning, Post 320 broke through with four runs in the third inning. The team added three more runs in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Post 22 managed to score one run in the fourth inning and another in the seventh, but the Bullets were unable to put together a large rally against the Shooters.

Defensively, Post 320 made the plays it needed when opportunities arose. The Shooters limited scoring chances and worked out of tough situations to maintain control of the game. Their defense was backed by timely hitting that consistently put pressure on the Bullets throughout the evening.

The scoreboard told the story at the end of the night. Post 320 finished with 9 runs, 9 hits, and 1 error, while Post 22 recorded 2 runs, 6 hits, and 0 errors.

While several players contributed to the victory, Woidt’s triple stood out as one of the game’s biggest highlights. His line drive to center field drove in a run, energized the Shooters’ dugout, and became the only three-base hit of the night.

When the final out was recorded, the Post 320 Shooters walked away with a convincing 9-2 win over the Post 22 Bullets at Fitzgerald Stadium, with Brad Woidt’s triple serving as one of the defining moments of the game.
