RAPID CITY, S.D. – A 40-year-old Rapid City man was arrested for driving under the influence after causing a multi-vehicle crash with a blood alcohol level more than five times the legal limit, according to police.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 25th, police were dispatched to East Omaha Street and Cambell Street in Rapid City for a report of a crash that had just occurred. On arrival, police spoke to witnesses and determined a black passenger vehicle had struck several other vehicles at the intersection.
Police made contact with the driver of the black passenger vehicle and identified him as 40-year-old Tyler Paris of Rapid City. Officers noted the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from Paris’ person.
Paris was administered a preliminary breath test, which registered at a .426 % blood alcohol content – more than five times the legal limit to drive.
