RAPID CITY, SD – The Rapid City Common Council got a new look during the regular monthly meeting. On Monday July 6th, five newly-elected council members took the oath of office for three-year terms – Josh Biberdorf (Ward One), Lindsey Seachris (Ward Two) , Kevin Maher (Ward Three), John Roberts (Ward Four) and Laura Armstrong (Ward Five).

They will join Stephen Tamang (Ward One), Bill Evans (Ward Two), Greg Strommen (Ward Three), Lance Lehmann (Ward Four) and Callie Meyer (Ward Five).

The council elected officers for the 2026-27 year. There were two nominations for president – Tamang and Maher. Tamang was elected as president by a vote of 6-4. Unopposed, Callie Meyer was elected to the position of vice president.

Outgoing Council President Rod Pettigrew was also recognized for his service to the city council and community.
