You’re driving down I-90, windows cracked, radio on. A song comes through the speakers. You hum along without thinking about it. Few minutes later, another one.
That’s Billy Currington’s career in a nutshell.
Friday, August 28, 2026, he’s bringing those songs to the Central States Fair Grandstand in Rapid City.
The “Wait, He Sings That Too?” Effect
People walk into a Billy Currington show figuring they’ll recognize a song or two. Maybe “People Are Crazy.” Maybe “Good Directions.” Then the band kicks into “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” and somebody in the crowd goes, “Oh, this is him?”
Then “Do I Make You Wanna.” Then “We Are Tonight.” By the encore, half the grandstand’s singing along to songs they didn’t know they knew.
“This is one of those shows where people come in thinking they know a couple songs,” said Central States Fair management. “By the end of the night, they realize they knew way more than they thought, and that’s what makes it so fun.”
Two Decades of Hits
Twelve number-one singles. Multiple platinum albums. The Georgia native’s been building one of country music’s deepest catalogs since the early 2000s. New tracks like “Everything Is Changing,” “City Don’t,” and “Anchor Man” keep showing up on playlists, in trucks, at backyard barbecues across the region.
