RAPID CITY, S.D. – A black bear was caught on a game camera Sunday night in the Black Hills, marking a rare wildlife sighting for local residents.
The photo was captured on June 28 at 8:23 p.m. between Cheyenne Crossing and Elmore, an area located southwest of Lead.
Resident Robyn Denning discovered the image after noticing property damage on her land.
“This is about 8:30 pm Sunday night between Cheyenne Crossing and Elmore…not only is our garbage scattered but got him on game cam,” Denning said.
Residents in the Black Hills and the greater Rapid City area are reminded to secure garbage cans, bird feeders, and pet food to avoid attracting wildlife.
