With profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Charlotte Lynn Williams announces her peaceful passing on August 5, 2026 in Newcastle, WY, at the age of 78. A longtime resident of Upton, Wyoming, Charlotte will be remembered as a woman whose quiet kindness, gentle heart, and unwavering compassion left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Charlotte was born in Gillette, WY on February 22, 1948, to Arthur and Orpha Williams, who instilled in her the values of honesty, hard work, and caring for others. She grew up on a ranch south of Upton. She was simply known as kind—a woman who treated others with patience, warmth, and genuine compassion. She never sought recognition for her goodness; instead, she quietly lived it each day through thoughtful gestures, a listening ear, and a caring heart.
For more than thirty years, Charlotte faithfully served the community of Upton as the Town Clerk/Treasurer. Whether helping a resident,or simply offering a warm smile across the counter, Charlotte earned the trust and respect of those she served. Her dedication to her community was evident every day, and her years of faithful service stand as a lasting testament to her character.
Outside of her career, Charlotte found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She possessed an insatiable love of reading and enjoyed every genre of book she could find. She also delighted in spending time with family and friends over games of cards and board games, where laughter and friendly competition created memories that will be treasured forever. Charlotte especially enjoyed playing bingo and looked forward to craft time at Mondell, where she found companionship, creativity, and joy in the company of others.
A devoted Catholic, Charlotte celebrated the 20th anniversary of her lifelong profession as a Secular Franciscan in July 2026. Her Franciscan vocation shaped the way she loved others, cared for creation, and lived a life of quiet service and deep faith.
Charlotte is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Allan Williams (Pam) and Jerry Williams (Dorothy), along with her beloved nieces and nephews, who brought great joy to her life. She cherished her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Orpha Williams, and by her beloved infant sister, Edna Williams. Though reunited with those who have gone before her, Charlotte’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed.
Per Charlotte’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and services will be held at a later date. Her family invites all who knew her to remember her by sharing stories, extending kindness to others, and taking time to enjoy the simple pleasures that brought Charlotte so much happiness throughout her life.
