RAPID CITY, S.D. – A chilly morning on Saturday, June 13th did not stop community members from gathering at Memorial Park for the annual Black Hills Pride festival.
Vendors and attendees in Rapid City experienced persistent wind and light rain during the morning hours. The damp and breezy conditions did affect the initial turnout for the outdoor event. Despite the challenging weather, plenty of attendees still came out to the Rapid City park to support the LGTBQ+ community.
The event featured free live music, crafts, guided yoga, and plenty of free swag for those who braved the elements to celebrate with the community.
Booths at the park ranged from local non-profits such as CASA to realtors like REMAX Emily Tupa. Food trucks, clothing stores, and the Rapid City Public Library also set up shop, with all participants advocating for themselves and joining in the celebration of equality.
