RAPID CITY, SD — Rapid City’s Traffic Division has made permanent traffic flow adjustments at the intersection of Park Drive and Corral Drive.
The intersection remains an all-way stop. Corral Drive had been widened to two eastbound lanes leading to Sheridan Lake Road. This addition allows a dual left turn for vehicles turning off of Park Drive. Drivers can utilize the outside lane to also turn right on to Corral Drive.
The traffic flow adjustments have been made just ahead of the start of the new school year. Message boards have been placed in the vicinity to notify drivers of the adjustments. Drivers are advised to use additional caution and be aware of the new dual turning lanes from Park Drive on to Corral Drive.
“The City has been reviewing the function of the intersection and this adjustment is being to accommodate the heavy traffic that occurs during the peak hours and provide for better flow of traffic,” said Rapid City Traffic Engineer Matthew Layman.
