RAPID CITY, SD — Rapid City has announced changes to solid waste services, including a newly introduced system for subscription-based curbside yard waste collection.
The system, set to go into effect on May 1st and set to make its first route on the 4th of the same month will cost residents $15 with a $100 container fee (returned to the user upon undamaged return of the container) and does not serve as a replacement for the city’s preexisting yard waste drop-off sites. “This optional service allows for convenient curbside collection of yard waste materials,” said the City.
The service occurs on the same day as normal waste collection and is set to run from May 1st to November 30th. According to the city, “Enrollment in the service constitutes a commitment through the end of the current yard waste season.”
