Darrell Burrow, 89, lately of San Diego, CA, passed away on October 14, 2026 in Rapid City, SD. Darrell was born in Decatur, IL to Carrol and Lois Burrow on September 16, 1937. He went to school in Decatur, IL. He was served in the Army where he played in a band to entertain the troops. He graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a second degree in Computer Science. He was involved in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Friends of the Library. Darrell lived in several places over the years but finally settled in San Diego. He made San Diego his home. Darrell is survived by children Jill & Dwight Burch and Cindie & Ray Johnson. Grandchildren Zachary Burch, Rachel & Tyler Wilson, Heather & Trevor McKenna, and Ray Johnson. Great grandchildren Madison Burch and Fia Wilson. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents Carrol and Lois Burrow, sister Nancy Burrow, son Terry Burrow, and grandsons Andrew Burch and Paul Johnson. Burial at Sea will take place in San Diego on Friday October 23, 2026 at 10am. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at The Village at Skyline Pines and Stillwater Hospice for the wonderful care he received. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be sent to the San Diego Coast Guard or the funeral home in memorium of Darrell.
