RAPID CITY, SD—Thirty-six years ago this month, President George H.W. Bush signed the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a sweeping civil rights law prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disabilities in various areas of public life such as employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications and public services.

Rapid City’s Disability Awareness and Accessibility Committee will host the annual Disability Resource Fair, an annual event celebrating passage of the ADA legislation. The Resource Fair will be held Saturday, July 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Minneluzahan Senior Center.

Nearly three dozen vendors will be participating in the annual event, including food trucks and a variety of community and service organizations. A mayoral proclamation will be shared along with other presentations. The fair is free and open to the public.
