RAPID CITY, S.D. – Forecasted high temperatures in Rapid City have prompted local education officials to adjust the schedule for several public schools later this week.
District officials announced that Grandview, Horace Mann, Meadowbrook, Rapid Valley, Robbinsdale, Pinedale, South Canyon, South Park, Wilson, and North Middle School will observe an early release on Thursday, September 3.
School buses across the affected Rapid City campuses will operate on the adjusted dismissal schedule, and all scheduled after-school activities at these specific sites have been canceled for Thursday.
Parents and guardians throughout the community are also asked to keep in mind that a districtwide early release was already scheduled for Friday, September 4, for all Rapid City public schools.
The forecast for Thursday is a high of 93°.
The upcoming bond vote, if passed, would address the HVAC issues for Horace Mann, Meadowbrook, and North Middle School.
