CUSTER, S.D. – A 17-year-old Hill City male died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Custer, according to state authorities.

The crash occurred at 3:11 p.m. Tuesday at 24285 Medicine Mountain Road, roughly 11 miles northwest of Custer and southwest of Rapid City.

Preliminary information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates that the teenager was driving a 1999 Toyota 4Runner northbound on Medicine Mountain Road. The name of the deceased has not been released pending the notification of family members.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol, an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, is leading the ongoing investigation.
