Rapid City, S.D. – Memorial Park will come alive this weekend for the annual Hills Alive Christian music festival.
Last year, organizers said about 35,000 attended the two-day event for the music, kids’ activities, exhibitors and vendors, and a family-friendly gathering.
Hills Alive will be held at Memorial Park in Rapid City on July 18 and 19. The 2026 lineup over the weekend includes Anne Wilson, Sidewalk Prophets, Tenth Avenue North and several others.
Hills Alive began in 1985. The original founders chose “Hills Alive” because it rhymed with 1985 and the name stuck. Today, the event has become recognized as the longest-running Christian music festival in the nation.
“We don’t view ourselves simply as promoters or event producers. We see ourselves as evangelists, called to bring the hope of Jesus outside the walls of the church and into the community,” said LifeLight’s Adam Burtis. “Hills Alive is an opportunity for people to gather, experience Christian music and teaching, build relationships, and hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.”
Burtis said that while the artist lineup is a major part of the weekend, Hills Alive is designed to be an experience for the whole family. In addition to the music, guests can enjoy family activities, vendors, food trucks, ministry areas, artist interactions, and other opportunities to connect throughout the festival grounds.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Shade tents and canopies are allowed in designated areas.
Hills Alive relies on volunteers to help with several aspects of the event from parking, to first aid, beverage sales, the prayer tent and tear down crew.
“Whether someone can help roll up an extension cord, greet guests, serve families, or pray with people, there is a place for them,” Burtis said.
More information and volunteer applications are available on the LifeLight Hills Alive website.
