When someone needed help, Joeseph Jack Chapman was willing to offer it. That simple remembrance says so much about the man his family knew and loved. He cared for people openly, extended his kindness to everyone, and showed that love through his readiness to lend a hand.
Joeseph, 35, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away on October 5, 2026. He was born on February 7, 1991. Though his life was far too brief, the care he gave to others leaves his loved ones with something lasting to remember.
Joeseph worked in construction. Beyond his working life, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing with his dog, Rebel. These were pleasures that belonged especially to him, and they offer his family familiar, personal ways to picture him: enjoying a ride or spending time at play with Rebel.
Above all, Joeseph will be remembered for his loving nature. His family describes him as someone who cared for everyone and would help anyone who needed him. There is a particular comfort in being able to turn to someone like that—to know that a need will be met with concern and a willingness to help. His absence will be deeply felt by those who knew that kindness firsthand.
Joeseph is survived by his mom Deanna (Bob Chimarusti) Edrich; his father Brad and his wife Andrea Chapman and his siblings and their spouses: Heather Bass and her husband, Justin Bass; Katie Sundermeyer and her husband, Jason Sundermyer; and Josh Chapman and his wife, Heather Chapman.
For his family and all who loved him, the memories of Joeseph will hold both the things he enjoyed and the goodness he shared. His motorcycle rides, his time with Rebel, and his caring heart are all part of the life they now honor. Most enduring of all will be the memory of a man who saw someone in need and wanted to help, a loving brother whose kindness will remain part of their lives.
