Spearfish man dies in motorcycle crash on I-90

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Spearfish man died Sunday from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday evening near Spearfish. Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 1995 Harley Davidson was traveling west on I-90 when he started to lose control of the motorcycle and laid it down. In the process, he became separated from the motorcycle. The driver was taken to a Spearfish Hospital before being transferred to a Rapid City hospital. The driver died from his injuries on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The man’s name has not been released as of yet pending notification of relatives. The investigation is ongoing.
