RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police report a disturbance and subsequent pursuit that happened overnight. Police say around 12:20 a.m., they were dispatched to the restaurant at 1024 Endeavor Blvd for a report of a vehicle that had entered the drive-through in the wrong direction and gotten into a disturbance with staff. While officers were on the way to the location, it was reported the vehicle had fled the area. A deputy of the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop in the area of Elk Vale Road and Cheyenne Boulevard. The vehicle did not stop and continued south on Elk Vale Road. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle until it stopped at the dead end at the north end of Neel Street. The driver and passenger both exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot into a nearby open field. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Shawn Hill of Rapid City, was located lying in the field. At some point while running, it appears Hill tripped and knocked himself out. The passenger, identified as 20-year-old Amos Prue of Rapid City, was apprehended a short time later. After speaking with staff at the restaurant, police determined Prue and Hill had gotten into a disturbance with staff in the drive-through of the restaurant. At one point, Hill spit on an employee before leaving the area. Police say Hill was determined to be too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle and after being treated at the hospital, he was ultimately placed under arrest for charges that include DUI, Sliming, Obstruction, Second Degree Eluding, and a Warrant. Prue was placed under arrest for Obstruction, and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. Share via: Facebook Twitter LinkedIn More
