Laura was born on January 13, 1964, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Claude and Lorraine (Tielke) Sparby. She lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and an unwavering love for those around her.

A dedicated nurse, Laura devoted her life to caring for others. Her kindness extended far beyond her profession. She was selfless, nurturing, and always willing to lend a helping hand. She had a remarkable way of making people feel loved, comforted, and seen. Her quiet strength carried her through life’s greatest challenges, and she continued to put others before herself, even during her own difficult journey.

Above all else, Laura treasured her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved. Whether she was gathered with family and friends, dancing with a smile on her face, or tending to her flowers, she found beauty in life’s simple moments. She created countless memories that will be cherished forever by those fortunate enough to know her.

Laura is survived by her loving significant other, Maurice; her children, Elissa, Zach (Jasmine), and Brooke; Maurice’s children, Veronica (Derek), Samantha (Josh), and Mindy; her beloved grandchildren, Bridger, Adelynn, Cameron, Jameson, Wyatt, and Tegan; and Maurice’s grandchildren, Thea, Fiona, and Josephine, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Laura is finally at peace. Her battle is over, her pain has ended, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. Her legacy of compassion, resilience, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation in Laura’s honor. (https://netrf.org/get-involved/give-now/)

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the countless prayers, acts of kindness, and unwavering support shown throughout Laura’s illness and during this difficult time. Your love has been a source of comfort that will never be forgotten.

To know Laura was to know genuine kindness. To love her was a gift. Though she is no longer with us, her love will continue to guide us, and her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
