RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Public Library will be closed this weekend as crews work to resolve ongoing issues with the building’s heating system.
Library officials announced the temporary closure will begin Saturday, noting that the facility will remain inaccessible to the public while repairs are underway.
A specific timeline for reopening has not been established, though administrators stated that updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
While the main downtown building is closed, the Rapid City Public Library bookmobile will continue its scheduled operations without interruption. Residents can visit the mobile unit on Saturday at the Black Hills Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to noon. The bookmobile is also slated to stop at Holiday Hills Estates from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m
Patrons are encouraged to monitor the library’s website and social media channels for the latest information regarding the building’s status and the restoration of regular service hours.
