RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police say a 20-year-old Rapid City man was arrested Saturday night following a carjacking and burglary on the 400 block of East Anamosa Street.

Devyn White Pipe is charged with multiple crimes: first degree robbery, first degree burglary, grand theft firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, commission of a felony with a firearm, and driving without a valid license.

According to police, a man was reportedly sitting in his car around 9 p.m. when another man got into the backseat with a rifle. The owner got out of the car and the suspect drove off.

Police were able to track the vehicle with help from the owner, who relayed the vehicle’s location to police by using the tracking feature of headphones still in the vehicle. Police found the vehicle near the intersection of Sixth and Main streets, where they arrested the suspect, identified as Devyn White Pipe.

Police also recovered the rifle, which turned out to be stolen from a home on the same block as where the vehicle was stolen.
