RAPID CITY, S.D. – McKeague Field upgrades will be heading to the Rapid City Common Council for approval.

On Tuesday, the Public Works Committee recommended authorizing staff to advertise bids for $235,000 in upgrades to the fields to include a new backstop, dugouts, and an ADA access path to the field move to the full city council for consideration. The recommendation goes to the full council for approval.

The McKeague Field project was one of 14 Vision Fund recommendations approved by the council in June 2025. Other projects approved in that cycle included beautification of the bocce ball park, ADA upgrades at Rapid City’s little league facilities, more than $3 million for pond wall work at Canyon Lake Park, and a handful of other local projects.
