RAPID CITY, S.D. – Monument Health Endocrinology and Diabetes Education have moved to a new location at 855 Omaha St. The clinic opened to patients on Wednesday, Oct. 21, giving both services a larger, more accessible space to keep pace with a growing community.

The move from Rapid City Clinic, Flormann Street, makes room for the growing number of people across the Black Hills who need care for diabetes, thyroid disease and other hormone-related conditions. The 26,000-square-foot clinic is roughly twice the size of the space the two services had on Flormann Street. It has 35 exam rooms, two ultrasound rooms, a DEXA scanner for bone density testing and a general X-ray room. The new location offers ground-level access with close parking.

“Our community is growing, and so is the need for diabetes and endocrine care. This space allows us to see more patients sooner and gives our educators room to teach.” said Andrew Fox, Monument Health Senior Director of Ambulatory Services.

Endocrinology physicians and advanced practice providers diagnose and treat conditions of the endocrine system, including diabetes, thyroid disorders and osteoporosis. Monument Health diabetes educators, all of whom are registered dietitians, help patients learn to manage blood sugar, nutrition, medication and technology such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors. Diabetes is particularly common in western South Dakota.
