RAPID CITY, SD—With temperatures forecasted to reach triple digits for another couple days and the heat wave expected to continue into the weekend, Rapid City Parks and Recreation officials remind the public to take advantage of ‘cool pool’ options at the three City outdoor pools.

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a pair of convenient specials including ‘Sunday for Funday’ with half-price admission of $4 per person on Sundays, and ‘Quick Dip Hour Passes’, which are half-price $4 passes daily from 5-6 p.m.  The special offerings apply to the Parkview, Sioux Park and Horace Mann pools.

“With the intense heat, what better way to cool off after work than a dip in the pool,” said City Recreation Specialist Teaghan Slagle. “The City pools and our ‘cool pool’ options offer some quick relief.”

All three outdoor pools also offer ‘cool’ treats and drinks among their concession offerings.

The three outdoor city pools at Parkview, Horace Mann and Jimmy Hilton are open from noon to 6 p.m. daily. In addition, the Roosevelt Park’s 50-meter outdoor pool is open from 8 a.m.-7:45 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Noon to 5:30 p.m. Sundays.

Daily swim passes are $8 for adults and youth, and $7 for senior citizens 62 years and older.
